Bone Oct 05, 2018
Díez-Pérez A, et al. - In this systematic review and meta-analysis, experts assessed the efficacy of teriparatide in the reduction of hip and upper limb fractures in women and men with osteoporosis. In patients treated with teriparatide, they noted an OR for hip fractures of 0.44 compared with controls. Hip fractures were reduced by 56% in teriparatide-treated patients with osteoporosis, and findings did not suggest statistically significant effects on the risk of humerus, forearm and wrist fractures.
