Effects of obesity and diabetes on rate of bone density loss

Osteoporosis International Sep 20, 2017

Leslie WD, et al. - This article was written with the objective to explore the effects of obesity and diabetes on the rate of bone density loss. The current study showed that the diabetes was related to slightly greater bone mineral density (BMD) loss at the femoral neck but not at other measurement sites. BMD loss at the lumbar spine was decreased in overweight and obese women but body mass index (BMI) did not significantly influence hip BMD loss.
