Effects of mobile phone application combined with or without self-monitoring of blood glucose on glycemic control in patients with diabetes: A randomized controlled trial
Journal of Diabetes Investigation Mar 05, 2019
Yu Y, et al. – Via conducting a 24-week period, four-arm parallel group, non-blinded, randomized trial consisting of patients with diabetes, researchers assessed the impact of mobile phone application (MPA) combined with or without self-monitoring of blood glucose (SMBG) on glycemic control. ANOVA's factor analysis showed that MPA intervention was the main effective factor for changing glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c), and for SMBG intervention there was no effect on HbA1c change. In patients with type 2 diabetes, the implementation of MPA, Diabetes-Carer, was effective in improving the proportion of HbA1c < 7%.
