Effects of lipid- vs sodium hyaluronate-containing eye drops on optical quality and ocular surface parameters as a function of the meibomian gland dropout rate
Cornea Jun 20, 2018
Miháltz K, et al. - Authors assessed the impact of lipid- vs sodium hyaluronate-based eye drops on optical quality and ocular surface parameters. They assessed the ocular symptom scores, breakup time, Schirmer test, fluorescein staining, noncontact meibography, and aberrometry before and after 3 months of therapy. Data demonstrated the superiority of lipid-containing artificial tears to sodium hyaluronate-containing drops regarding the improvement of higher-order (HO) aberrations and optical quality in patients with significant meibomian gland (MG) dysfunction.
