Bruguera-Avila N, et al. - This study tested nebulized colistin for reducing the number and duration of severe exacerbations in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and infection with Pseudomonas aeruginosa (PA). A strong decrease in the number and duration of exacerbation-attributed hospitalizations seemed to be associated with treatment with nebulized colistin, however, confirmation in large clinical trials is needed.
