Rabello F, et al. - Experts intended to explore the effectiveness of using chlorhexidine for oral healthcare on patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for the prevention of nosocomial pneumonia (NP) and ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP). Findings illustrated that chlorhexidine was effective for the prevention of NP among adults in Cardiothoracic ICU. Nonetheless, its effectiveness remained inconclusive for the prevention of PN and VAP in ICUs with patients exhibiting varying clinical-surgical conditions.
