Effectiveness and acceptability of cognitive behavior therapy delivery formats in adults with depression: A network meta-analysis
JAMA Jul 10, 2019
Cuijpers P, et al. - For the treatment of acute depression, researchers performed a network meta-analysis of 155 trials involving 15,191 patients to determine the most effective delivery format for cognitive behavior therapy. Findings revealed no statistically significant differences in efficacy among individual, group, telephone, and guided self-help treatment formats and so all may be considered as alternatives to individual therapy. However, there was somewhat lower acceptability for guided self-help format. They noted no higher efficacy of unguided self-help therapy vs care as usual.
