Effect of multidomain disease presentations on patients with psoriatic arthritis in the Corrona Psoriatic Arthritis/Spondyloarthritis Registry
The Journal of Rheumatology May 05, 2021
Ogdie A, Hur P, Liu M, et al. - Researchers conducted the study for comparing disease characteristics, quality of life (QOL), and work productivity of patients with psoriatic arthritis (PsA) who had multidomain vs single-domain presentations. Adults with PsA registered in the Corrona PsA/Spondyloarthritis Registry (March 2013–August 2018) were involved. Six PsA disease domains were assessed: enthesitis, dactylitis, peripheral arthritis, nail psoriasis, axial disease, and skin disease. Of the 2,617 PsA patients, 1,698 had multidomain presentations, 617 had single-domain presentations, and 302 had no active disease features. The majority of patients in this US real-world cohort had multidomain disease presentations, which was related to worse disease activity, QOL, and work productivity measures. This study emphasises the heterogeneity of PsA and the importance of assessing all PsA domains for disease management optimization.
