Effect of implant connection type and depth on the seating accuracy of hand-tightened abutments

Siadat H, et al. - Researchers, herein, investigated the impact of the type of implant/abutment interface on the complete seating of the abutments on the head of implants placed at different gingival depths. They concluded that an increase in implant placement depth denoted a decrease in accuracy of the abutment seating. Notably, compared with external and internal butt-joint connection designs, internal conical connection design demonstrated the best result in abutment positioning in deep implants.
