Tahapary DL, et al. – This study was performed with the aim to assess the anthelmintic treatment effect on changes in insulin resistance (IR). Anthelmintic treatment seemed reducing soil–transmitted helminths (STHs) prevalence, total IgE, and eosinophil count but had no effect on IR at the community level. In helminth–infected subjects, IR markedly increased with treatment, highlighting the need for metabolic health monitoring with ongoing deworming programs.
