Vianello A, et al. - This investigation was pursued to assess the impact of a Whisper Swivel connector vs an active exhalation valve on gas exchange and symptoms in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) patients requiring long-term tracheostomy ventilation (LT-TV). In this patient population, the efficacy shown by the Whisper Swivel connector was similar to that of an active exhalation valve.
