International Journal of Dental Hygiene Jul 31, 2018
van der Sluijs E, et al. - In this secondary analysis, authors compared the impacts on plaque removal of brushing with a dry toothbrush and brushing with a prewetted toothbrush. On an average, plaque scores were reduced by 57% or more after a 2-minute brushing exercise. Findings did not suggest the significant contribution of dry brushing to toothbrush efficacy. An influence of prewetting on the cleaning capability and filament stiffness was not seen.
