British Journal of Dermatology Sep 27, 2017
Mason JM, et al. - A comparative assessment was performed of the cost-effectiveness of doxycycline-initiated and prednisolone-initiated therapy for patients with bullous pemphigoid (BP). The data suggested that patients with mild or moderate blistering ought to receive treatment guided by the safety and effectiveness of the drugs and patient preference. It was observed that neither strategy served as a preferred use of NHS resources. The prednisolone-initiated therapy could be more cost-effective for patients with severe blistering.
