Does grip strength reflect isokinetic muscle strength in lower limbs in patients with chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy?
Muscle & Nerve Apr 24, 2018
Knak KL, et al. - Researchers compared the responsiveness of grip strength (GS) with isokinetic muscle strength (IKS) and lower limb function in patients with chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP). It was determined that GS was associated with IKS at the ankle (IKSankle) and with walking performance. IKSankle appeared to be more responsive to detecting change compared to GS. Researchers concluded that GS did not serve as a good surrogate measure of IKS and function of the lower limbs in patients with CIDP.
