Do short implants have similar survival rates compared to standard implants in posterior single crown?: A systematic review and meta-analysis
Clinical Implant Dentistry and Related Research Aug 05, 2018
da Rosa de Souza PT, et al. - Researchers compared the survival rate of short implants and standard implants when used in posterior single crowns. They also reported the marginal bone loss, prosthetic failures, and surgical complications. For the one-year follow-up period, findings suggested a similar survival rate of short implants and the standard ones in posterior single crowns. Low surgical complications, prosthetic failures, and marginal bone loss were presented as a predictable treatment for single rehabilitation in posterior tooth loss. They noted that mean marginal bone loss ranged from 0.1 mm to 0.54 mm.
