Direct fiber-reinforced interim fixed partial dentures: Six-year survival study
Journal of Prosthodontics Apr 19, 2018
Goguta ML, et al. - Authors assessed the long-term survival of anterior and posterior direct glass fiber-reinforced composite (FRC) fixed partial dentures (FPD). Findings suggested that in addition to being minimally invasive and also esthetic, these long-term interim FRC-FPD were resistant enough to allow mastication. The inlay composite retainers were seen as the better solution. For the 2 types of FPDs, 6-year survival rates were 94.7% for the inlay retainer type vs 25% for the hybrid type, with a statistically significant difference.
