Diffractive trifocal pseudophakic intraocular lenses in high myopic eyes: 2-year assessment after implantation
Graefe's Archive for Clinical and Experimental Ophthalmology Apr 12, 2019
Javaloy J, et al. - In this retrospective cumulative clinical study, 205 myopic eyes were studied to examine the visual outcomes and ocular safety while implanting diffractive trifocal intraocular lenses in high myopic eyes. They observed 5.9%, 11.5%, and 10.7%, the percentage of eyes lost 2 or more lines of corrected distance visual acuity (CDVA) at 3, 12 and 48 months after surgeries respectively. Although, 33% of eyes gained two or more lines of CDVA 2 years following implantation. They noted stable mean near and intermediate uncorrected visual acuities from the first to the last postoperative visit (Kruskal–Wallis). They suggested good efficacy and predictability of diffractive trifocal IOLs in high myopic eyes.
