Differences in systemic inflammation between cigarette and biomass smoke-induced COPD

Golpe R, et al. Â The present study was undertaken to evaluate the inflammatory profile in COPD caused by biomass smoke (B-COPD) and COPD caused by tobacco (T-COPD). The results indicated that both types of COPD were related to high levels of systemic inflammation biomarkers. The findings suggested that T-COPD patients have a higher systemic inflammatory status as compared to the patients with B-COPD.
