Dietary patterns and their association with menopausal symptoms: A cross-sectional study
Menopause Apr 16, 2019
Soleymani M, et al. - In this cross-sectional study of 400 postmenopausal women who went to health centers in the south of Tehran, Iran, researchers examined how dietary patterns influence physical, mental, and genitourinary symptoms linked with menopause. The three major dietary patterns recognized were vegetables and fruits (VF); mayonnaise, liquid oils, sweets, and desserts (MLSD); and solid fats and snacks (SFS). Observations suggest that VF dietary pattern has an inverse relationship with menopausal symptoms. Conversely, an increased risk of these symptoms was noted in correlation the MLSD and SFS dietary patterns.
