Dietary fat, saturated fatty acid, and monounsaturated fatty acid intakes and risk of bone fracture: A systematic review and meta-analysis of observational studies
Osteoporosis International Jun 16, 2018
Mozaffari H, et al. - Researchers conducted a comprehensive review of the literature on the relationship between dietary fat intake, saturated fatty acids (SFAs), monounsaturated fatty acids (MUFAs), and the risk of fracture. A comprehensive search of articles published up to 7 January 7, 2018 was undertaken in PubMed and Scopus. Findings suggested that SFAs intake had a strong positive relationship with the risk of hip fracture. Furthermore, MUFAs derived from animal sources demonstrated a significant positive association with the risk of fracture.
