Dental caries and developmental defects of enamel in individuals with chronic kidney disease: Systematic review and meta-analysis

Limeira FIR, et al. - Authors assessed the studies evaluating the prevalence of dental caries and developmental defects of enamel (DDE) in individuals with chronic kidney disease (CKD) vs individuals without CKD. They performed electronic searches in Pubmed, Web of Science, Scopus, Medline via Ovid and ProQuest databases from their inception date until February 2018. Lower dental caries scores and a higher prevalence of DDE is presented by individuals with CKD vs individuals without CKD. No statistical difference for DDE was seen between groups.
