Decreasing secondary primary uterine cancer after breast cancer: A population-based analysis
Gynecologic Oncology May 30, 2019
Matsuo K, et al. - Via this retrospective analysis, researchers used the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results Program (1973-2013) to determine population-based statistics of women with uterine cancer and a history of prior breast cancer. The analysis included 237,686 women with uterine cancer; of those, a previous breast cancer was reported in 8,235 (3.5%) women. According to the findings, the diagnosis of uterine cancer following breast cancer is declining. While high-risk tumor features were reported in relation to uterine tumors following breast cancer, other malignancies were more likely to be the cause of death in women with uterine cancer after breast cancer.
