Contraception use among reproductive-age women with rheumatic diseases

Talabi MB, et al. - Among a cohort of reproductive-age women (18-50 years) with rheumatic diseases, researchers determined the contraception use. This largest study describing contraceptive usage among reproductive-age women with rheumatic diseases revealed the low usage of prescription contraception. Findings suggested a requirement of urgent efforts to improve contraceptive care and access, for some women with rheumatic diseases. A greater likeliness to use highly vs moderately effective contraceptive methods was seen in the women who saw gynecologists.
