Complications following hip fracture: results from the world hip trauma evaluation cohort study

Goh EL, et al. - In this research, the incidence of complications were recorded in the first 120 days following hip fracture. Researchers performed the World Hip Trauma Evaluation study which is a multicentre, prospective cohort study in National Health Service hospitals in England and Wales. This study enrolled 60 years or above 60 years individuals who received operative treatment for a hip fracture. There were 8,673 individuals who included in this study. They recorded the incidence of complications by hospital staff until discharge from hospital and by participants at 120-days post-surgery. The rates of complications noted here serving a reference range against which further research might be analyzed.
