de Carneros-Llorente AM, et al. - Researchers evaluated 160 patients having bilateral phacoemulsification and implantation of an AcrySof IQ PanOptix, AT LISA tri 839MP, FineVision, or Tecnis ZLB00 intraocular lens in order to compare 3 trifocal intraocular lenses (IOLs) and 1 bifocal IOL regarding the visual quality and subjective outcomes. Each group was comprised of 40 patients. Relative to the bifocal IOL, the trifocal IOLs led to better intermediate distance vision without compromising distance or near vision.
