Comparison of two morphine-benzodiazepine-hydroxyzine combinations for the oral sedation of pediatric dental patients: A retrospective study

Chen N, et al. - Researchers herein, evaluated the efficacy of oral morphine sulfate regimens in sedating pediatric dental patients. They also assessed if pre-sedation disposition and willingness to take the sedative were associated with the outcome of the sedation. Findings disclosed that the overall rate of effective sedation using various oral morphine sulfate regimens was above 80 percent. Adverse events were found to be minimal. A positive relation between the willingness of the patient to take the sedative and the outcome of the sedation regimen was seen.
