Comparison of two morphine-benzodiazepine-hydroxyzine combinations for the oral sedation of pediatric dental patients: A retrospective study

Pediatric Dentistry Feb 23, 2018

Chen N, et al. - Experts sought to assess the efficacy of oral morphine sulfate regimens in sedating pediatric dental patients. They also evaluated if pre-sedation disposition and willingness to take the sedative were associated with the outcome of the sedation. Using various oral morphine sulfate regimens, the overall rate of effective sedation was above 80%. The occurrence of adverse events was minimal. Findings suggested a positive relationship between patient's willingness to take the sedative and the outcome of the sedation regimen.
