Comparison of tunnel and crestal incision techniques in reconstruction of localized alveolar defects

Altiparmak N, et al. - Here, the researchers compared the complication rates of recipient sites prepared using 2 incision techniques: crestal and tunnel. They revealed that the tunnel incision technique significantly reduced soft tissue exposure, the most common complication of augmentation procedures with autogenous onlay bone grafts. For preparation of the recipient site, this technique had to be considered as an alternative to the crestal incision technique.
