Comparison of the Hadlock and INTERGROWTH 21st formulas for calculating estimated fetal weight in a preterm population in France
American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology Aug 19, 2018
Monier I, et al. - Researchers performed a comparison of the accuracy of the Hadlock and INTERGROWTH formulas for the estimation of fetal weight among preterm infants. They identified 578 non-anomalous singleton fetuses with an ultrasound-to-delivery interval <2 days using the EPIPAGE 2 population-based study of births between 22 and 34 weeks of gestation. Compared to INTERGROWTH’s formula, Hadlock’s estimated fetal weight formula was more accurate for fetuses delivered between 22 and 34 weeks of gestation. Hence, the results supported using Hadlock’s formula in France.
