Kunnen CME, et al. - The target of this trial was to validate a semi-objective method of grading lid wiper epitheliopathy (LWE) compared to subjective assessment. The findings exhibited that human observers displayed the tendency to overestimate the height and underestimate the width of LWE staining. Lid wiper region did not appear to be well defined. Hence, it could serve as a cumbersome process for human observers to judge the stained region as a proportion of the lid wiper total region.
