Sreeraj R, et al. - Researchers performed a comparison of masticatory and swallowing functional outcomes in maxillectomy patients who underwent surgical and prosthetic rehabilitation or prosthetic rehabilitation only following surgical resection. Based on the findings, they suggested flap reconstruction followed by an obturator prosthesis as a preferable option when planning for functional rehabilitation in maxillectomy patients. They recommended further research to substantiate the functional outcomes noted in this study.
