Comparison of intracytoplasmic sperm injection outcome with fresh vs frozen-thawed testicular sperm in men with nonobstructive azoospermia: A systematic review and meta-analysis
Journal of Assisted Reproduction and Genetics Jun 07, 2018
Yu Z, et al. - In patients with nonobstructive azoospermia (NOA), researchers investigated if testicular sperm cryopreservation affects the outcome of subsequent intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) via performing a systematic review and meta-analysis by searching the MEDLINE and EMBASE databases for relevant published studies in English language (1997–2017). As per outcomes, the retrieved testicular sperm, whether fresh or frozen, had no effect on the ICSI outcome. They recommend considering sperm cryopreservation in every surgical sperm retrieval case, which remains feasible even in patients with few testicular sperm retrieved.
