Comparison of efficacy between coaxial microincision and standard-incision phacoemulsification in patients with age-related cataracts: A meta-analysis

Wang L, et al. - Herein, researchers comparatively appraised the efficacy of coaxial microincisional phacoemulsification surgery (MICS) and standard-incision phacoemulsification surgery (SICS) in patients with age-related cataracts. Findings unveiled that MICS could reduce short-term and long-term surgically induced astigmatism (SIA) compared with SICS. However, no difference was noted in the safety outcomes or in the time required for surgery.
