Comparison of adults with polyarticular juvenile idiopathic arthritis to adults with rheumatoid arthritis: A cross-sectional analysis of clinical features and medication use
Journal of Clinical Rheumatology Jun 05, 2019
Feger DM, et al. - Clinical features and medication use in the adult polyarticular juvenile idiopathic arthritis (pJIA) population vs rheumatoid arthritis (RA) control cohort were delineated via performing a cross-sectional study of 45 adults with pJIA and 94 with RA. Researchers noted less likelihood of rheumatoid factor or cyclic citrullinated peptide antibody positivity among polyarticular JIA patients; the RA 2010 American College of Rheumatology/European League Against Rheumatism Classification Criteria were met by fewer than half of pJIA subjects. The 2 populations showed marked differences in medication use with greater prevalence and duration of tumor necrosis factor inhibitor use in pJIA patients.
