Comparative instrumental evaluation of efficacy and safety between a binary and a ternary system in chemexfoliation
Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology Oct 02, 2017
Cameli N, et al. - This study performed a comparative assessment of the efficacy and safety of a new ternary system chemo exfoliating formulation (water-dimethyl isosorbide-acid) with traditional binary systems (water and acid), where the acid was maintained in both the systems at the same concentration. The findings divulged that the ternary system chemexfoliation yielded the same clinical effects with regard to stratum corneum reduction, alongside a notably reduced barrier alteration, water loss, and irritation/erythema compared to traditional binary system peels, through a controlled delivery technology.
