Zink AG, et al. - The authors sought to develop and assess an application (app) helping patient-professional communication in the individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). They also compared it with the Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS). Results depicted that for dentist-patient communication, this app was more effective than the PECS. It led to a decrease in the number of appointments with the dentists for preventive dental care and clinical examinations.
