Combined subconjunctival injection of dexamethasone for the management of acute primary angle closure: A randomized controlled trial
British Journal of Ophthalmology Apr 26, 2019
Huang W, et al. - Forty-two individuals [the injection group (21 cases) and the control group (21 subjects)] were examined to determine the impact of combined subconjunctival injection of dexamethasone on intraocular pressure (IOP) in acute primary angle closure (APAC)-affected eyes. They noted a significant decrease in IOP in both groups following treatment. They did not observe statistical significance between the two groups concerning the anterior chamber cells, anterior chamber flare, and photophobia. They recorded the improvement in the success rate of treatment with combined subconjunctival injection of dexamethasone as it could significantly accelerate the relief of high IOP.
