Color vision deficiency among biomedical students: A cross-sectional study
Clinical Ophthalmology Jun 25, 2018
Dohvoma VA, et al. - Among first-cycle students of the Faculty of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences of the University of Yaoundé I, researchers determined the prevalence of color vision deficiency (CVD). In this cross-sectional descriptive study of 303 students (155 males and 148 females; mean age 20.2±2 years), CVD was confirmed in 4, giving a prevalence of 1.3%. Hence, results suggest its low prevalence among these students. Researchers, however, recommend performing CVD screening among these in order to raise awareness, which will go a long way to help orientate the choice of future specialty.
