Decroix L, et al. - The clinicians performed this systematic review to assess the effects of cocoa flavanols (CFs) intake on exercise performance and recovery and exercise-induced changes in vascular function, cognitive function, oxidative stress, inflammation, and metabolic parameters. During exercise, CF intake could improve vascular function, reduce exercise-induced oxidative stress, and alter fat and carbohydrate utilization, but without affecting exercise performance.
