Clinicopathological features of neuroblastic tumors with opsoclonus-myoclonus-ataxia syndrome: Follicular structure predicts a better neurological outcome

Pathology International Oct 06, 2017

Fukushima H, et al. - This research explored the characteristics of neuroblastic tumors (NT) with the opsoclonus-myoclonus-ataxia syndrome (OMS). It was discovered that the interval between OMS onset and the detection and initial treatment of NT was typically longer in patients with neurological sequelae than those without neurological sequelae. Its early detection and treatment at the phase of a clear follicular formation with multiple follicular dendritic cells (FDCs) could present favorable neurological outcomes.
