Clinical value of renal phospholipase A2 receptor deposit in the prognosis evaluation and treatment options of idiopathic membranous nephropathy: A retrospective cohort study
Nephrology Feb 01, 2020
Xie Z, Dong W, Li Z, et al. - Researchers undertook this retrospective cohort analysis to determine the link between renal phospholipase A2 receptor (PLA2R) antigen and disease prognosis among eligible patients (n = 300) diagnosed with biopsy-confirmed idiopathic membranous nephropathy (IMN) between September 2015 and July 2018 in Guangdong Provincial People's Hospital. They also assessed the difference of therapeutic impacts between cyclophosphamide and cyclosporine A in PLA2R-related IMN. A lower likelihood to achieve remission was observed in PLA2R-associated IMN patients vs non-PLA2R-associated IMN. The therapeutic effects of cyclophosphamide vs cyclosporine A were better in remission of proteinuria, and cyclophosphamide may be the favored immunosuppressant for PLA2R-related IMN.
