Clinical outcomes of frozen embryo vs fresh embryo transfer following in vitro fertilization: A meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials
Archives of Gynecology and Obstetrics Jun 14, 2018
Zhang W, et al. - Researchers investigated if the freeze-all embryo and subsequent frozen-thawed embryo transfer (FET) results in better clinical outcomes than fresh embryo transfer (ET) via examining available data from randomized controlled trials. Results indicate that compared with ET, the IVF/ICSI with FET is more efficient and less risky for OHSS. However, they recommended comprehensively informing patients regarding the advantages, disadvantages and potential risks related to embryo cryopreservation, and carefully assessing their fertility conditions to make the most beneficial clinical decision.
