Clinical, microbiological and cytomorphometric evaluation of low-level laser therapy as an adjunct to periodontal therapy in patients with chronic periodontitis
International Journal of Dental Hygiene Apr 19, 2018
Petrovic MS, et al. - Researchers estimated the microbiological, cytomorphometric and clinical effectiveness of low-level laser therapy (LLLT) as an adjunct to periodontal therapy in the treatment of chronic periodontitis. As per the findings, short-term additional bacteriological, cytological and clinical benefits were demonstrated by low-level laser therapy as an adjunct to periodontal therapy. After treatment in LLLT group, a statistically significant decrease in the prevalence of bacteria was observed for the following: T. forsythensis and T. denticola, P. gingivalis, A. actinomycetemcomitans and P. intermedia.
