Clinical impact of regional citrate anticoagulation in continuous renal replacement therapy in critically ill patients

Huguet M, et al. – In terms of efficacy, safety, and feasibility, the clinical impact of regional citrate anticoagulation (RCA) in continuous renal replacement therapy in critically ill patients, was assessed. As per findings, the implementation of continuous venovenous hemodiafiltration (CVVHDF) with RCA using concentrated citrate solutions prolonged filter lifetime and achieved a longer effective hemodiafiltration time. In addition, it was a safe and feasible method.
