Arthritis Research & Therapy Jan 26, 2019
Fan L, et al. - In this ambispective study, 101 cases satisfying the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) criteria and/or the European League against Rheumatism (EULAR)/Pediatric Rheumatology International Trials Organization (PRINTO)/Pediatric Rheumatology European Society (PReS) criteria were assessed from January 2002 to December 2017, to study the clinical course of childhood Takayasu’s arteritis (c-TA) and prognostic circumstances related to re-hospitalization and events involving vascular complications, flares, and death. They noticed 3% mortality (in first year) and 50% morbidity (in 5 years). They observed candidates with fundamental lower BMI level, younger age at admission, stroke, and raised CRP had an elevated risk of poor consequences, expecting close c-TA monitoring and more dynamic management.
