Clinical characteristics of peri-implant mucositis and peri-implantitis
Clinical Oral Implants Research Apr 20, 2018
Ramanauskaite A, et al. - Researchers assessed and correlated clinical parameters related to peri-implant diseases based on established case definitions. The clinical parameters included bleeding on probing (BOP), probing depths (PDs), and suppuration (Supp). Findings suggested an association of the clinical parameters investigated with the severity of peri-implant diseases. Authors noted an association of healthy sites with the absence of BOP. Significantly higher mean PD values were seen in the peri-implantitis patients vs the peri-implant mucositis group. Supp was seen to be limited to peri-implantitis cases.
