Clinical and radiographic outcomes of open Latarjet procedure in patients aged 40 years or older
Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery May 01, 2019
Domos P, et al. - In this investigation, researchers assessed the clinical and radiographic outcomes of patients (aged 40 years or older) with recurrent anterior shoulder instability who had open Latarjet stabilization. Between 1988 and 2014, they involved 168 patients who were treated surgically for recurrent anterior shoulder instability with an open Latarjet procedure (often used in younger patients to treat shoulder instability). The authors concluded that the Latarjet procedure is an effective treatment option in the setting of an anteroinferior capsulolabral and/or bony injury for older patients (aged ≥ 40 years) with recurrent anterior shoulder instability.
