Circadian genes and risk of prostate cancer: Findings from the EPICAP study

International Journal of Cancer Jan 25, 2019

Wendeu-Foyet MG, et al. - In the EPICAP study, a population-based case-control study, 1,515 males were analyzed to evaluate the relationship between circadian genes polymorphisms and the risk of prostate cancer occurrence. Investigators observed a significant relationship between the core-circadian pathway and prostate cancer. They also noticed a relation of NPAS2 and PER1 with all prostate cancers (at the gene level) whereas only RORA was significantly linked to aggressive tumors. At the single nucleotide polymorphisms-level, no significant relationship was noted.
