Alserehi H, et al. - A real-world evaluation of chlorhexidine gluconate (CHG) skin concentrations in intensive care unit patients and their relationship to different CHG bathing practices was perfomed. Rinsing with water after CHG solution bath (compared with no rinse) resulted in lower skin CHG concentrations among patients, but there appeared no significant difference in concentrations between the use of CHG solution without rinse and preimpregnated CHG wipes.
