Changes in serum prolactin level during intracytoplasmic sperm injection, and effect on clinical pregnancy rate: A prospective observational study

Kamel A, et al. - In patients undergoing intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), researchers looked for changes in serum prolactin levels, and evaluated the effect of these changes on the clinical pregnancy rate. Among normoprolactinemic women, patients undergoing ICSI showed transient hyperprolactinemia which was not observed to affect the clinical pregnancy rates. They identified a positive correlation between higher quality embryos, and serum prolactin level before ovum pick up procedure.
